One filter, two jobs: dry air and clean air
This hybrid filter combines HEPA and activated carbon in a single filter, made for the Arida Sandefjord and Arida Oslo dehumidifiers. The standard filter supplied with the machines catches the largest particles. With the hybrid filter fitted, the air passing through the machine is also cleaned of fine dust, pollen, mould spores and odours before it is returned dry to the room.
- Made for Arida Sandefjord and Arida Oslo
- HEPA stops fine particles such as dust, pollen and mould spores
- Activated carbon removes odours from basements, storage rooms, boats and cabins
- Keeps the desiccant rotor and fan clean so the machine lasts longer
- Replaced in under a minute, no tools needed
Why it makes sense where the dehumidifier stands
Rooms with moisture problems rarely have just one problem. A damp basement or boat usually has stale odours and mould spores in the air as well. The dehumidifier already circulates the room air many times a day. By fitting a finer filter at the intake, you use that airflow to clean the air at the same time, instead of buying and running a separate air purifier.
Two layers that complement each other
HEPA is a dense fibre mat that captures particles down to very small sizes. This is the layer that deals with dust, pollen, mould spores and pet dander.
Activated carbon has a huge internal surface area that binds gases and odour molecules. Smells from damp rooms, chemicals, paint or a boat engine stay in the carbon instead of in the room.
Because both layers sit in the same frame, you only have one filter to keep track of.
Protects the machine
Both the Sandefjord and the Oslo are desiccant dehumidifiers with a drying rotor. The rotor absorbs moisture and is regenerated with heat. Dust settling on the rotor reduces capacity and can give a faint burnt smell when it heats up. A finer filter in front of the intake keeps the rotor and fan cleaner, so the machine keeps its performance over time.
Replacement interval
Replace at least once a year. If the machine runs continuously in a dusty workshop or garage, expect two or three replacements a year. Check the filter whenever you empty or move the machine anyway.
Replace it when you notice one or more of these signs:
- The filter surface has turned grey or dark
- The airflow out of the machine is clearly weaker than before
- The odour in the room has returned
You can gently vacuum the surface to extend the service life somewhat. The filter must not be washed, as water destroys the carbon layer.
How to replace it
Switch off the machine and unplug it. Release the filter cover, put the hybrid filter in place and refit the cover. That is the whole job. Keep vacuuming the coarse filter regularly as before.
Note: This filter fits only the Arida Sandefjord and Arida Oslo. Filters for other models are listed under accessories and filters.
Arid
We have been selling products for a better indoor climate since 2010. The products were good, but they were not always adapted to our Nordic conditions.
That's why we established the brand Arida and developed a series of products specially adapted to our Nordic needs. The series includes products for both professional users and private homes.
We work for clean and safe air, with the right humidity.
