Dehumidifier against the wall
When you read the manual for your dehumidifier, you may see that it should be placed a certain distance from the wall. That can be impractical. Meaco has found a solution for how we can place the dehumidifier right against the wall.
Can a dehumidifier be placed directly against the wall?
Recessed air intake
The reason why a dehumidifier should not normally be placed against the wall is that it needs sufficient airflow. If the air filter is right against the wall, the dehumidifier will not be able to draw in the air it needs. Performance will be reduced, and the dehumidifier could potentially overheat due to insufficient cooling.

Meaco has found a solution to this. The air intake is recessed into the unit from the sides. This allows the dehumidifier to be placed against the wall.
Water tank still at the front
Some people choose to turn the dehumidifier around so the air intake faces into the room. This way, they can still push the dehumidifier against the wall. The problem is often that the water tank is not accessible. You then have to turn the dehumidifier around to empty the water tank. With the Meaco Arete, the design is so clever that the water tank is accessible from the front, even though the air intake is at the back.
By doing it this way, you can place the dehumidifier completely against the wall while the water tank is accessible from the front. You don't have to worry about the correct distance to the wall. Meaco has solved this very elegantly. The cleverness lies in the details.
